– The Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction has approved the investment programme for rebuilding the bridge over the Bóbr River in Bolesławiec, along national road No. 94. Documentation is to be prepared in 2017–2018, while the investment is scheduled for 2019–2020 – Maciej Wołodko, spokesperson for the Wrocław branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, tells istotne.pl Maciej Wołodko. – We are awaiting the task’s final inclusion in next year’s plan.

What is the concept? – It envisages constructing two bridges next to each other, with traffic travelling along two parallel carriageways – explains the spokesperson for the Wrocław branch of GDDKiA. He adds: – First, a new bridge will be built, and vehicular traffic will be moved onto it. The load-bearing structure of the old bridge will then be dismantled. Its supports, however, are to be reused. Once the second carriageway, using the supports of the existing crossing, has been built, traffic will run across both bridges.

It is not yet known how much the investment will cost. Everything will become clear once the design documentation has been prepared. We will return to the subject.
