The yew in Henryków Lubański is the oldest tree in Poland. It is nearly 1,300 years old. To save it, scaffolding was erected—for the first time in our country!—to protect this natural monument. The structure worked—the yew began to recover. Unfortunately, the scaffolding itself collapsed overnight from December 1 to 2.

According to arborists, specialists in trees, fortunately this happened now, while it is cool. (Heat is deadly for yews.) The structure will be rebuilt, but this time on a smaller scale.
