How to send a cash-on-delivery shipment?

DHL Parcel courier services enable business customers to send cash-on-delivery shipments. They are also available in the offer for individual customers. This type of delivery and payment option is selected when sending the shipment. The most convenient way is to order a DHL Parcel courier online, via the DHL24 application. To send a domestic shipment, you should:

  • specify whether the principal is the sender or the recipient of the shipment,
  • indicate who is the payer – the sender or the recipient of the shipment,
  • provide the delivery or collection address for the shipment (you can select addresses from a previously created address book),
  • specify the type of shipment, its weight, dimensions and quantity, and whether it is a non-standard item (the shipment contents are selected from a drop-down list),
  • select the type of transport service – DHL PARCEL POLSKA, DHL PARCEL 9, DHL PARCEL 12,
  • indicate additional services, including scheduled afternoon delivery, Saturday delivery or Saturday pickup, shipment insurance, cash-on-delivery return (for a cash-on-delivery shipment), pre-delivery information, the return of confirmed documents, delivery confirmation, self-collection or delivery to a neighbour,
  • determine the payment details,
  • select the shipment dispatch date.

Cash-on-delivery shipment features

The recipient of the shipment is required to pay the cash-on-delivery amount in cash. Every shipment with cash-on-delivery and payment-return services is additionally insured.

The cash-on-delivery return service at DHL Parcel guarantees that the shipment payment will be returned to the payer’s account within up to 5 business days. This period is counted from the next business day after the shipment is delivered, with the applicable date being the date on which the funds are transferred from DHL’s bank account.

The maximum cash-on-delivery amount for the business offer is PLN 11,000. If, when sending one or more shipments, the total cash-on-delivery amounts from one sender to one recipient exceed PLN 6,500 in a single transaction, the recipient will be required to collect the shipment at a DHL Customer Service Point.

DHL Parcel charges an additional fee of PLN 7 plus 1% of the cash-on-delivery amount for the cash-on-delivery shipment service.
