An electronic invoice is any invoice issued in an electronic format, but it must have the basic characteristics of an invoice and meet all the requirements imposed by the Ministry of Finance.
An e-invoice issued using invoicing software is often sent by email as an attachment. It is very important that such an attached document cannot be edited and that editing is not possible. This ensures that nobody changes the invoice in a way we do not want. Proper invoice storage is also important and is required primarily so that the invoices can be provided immediately in the event of an inspection by the tax authorities.
The company Mega-Tech, a producer of functional invoice-writing software, offers its clients an e-Archive feature that enables backup copies to be saved on an external server. This is beneficial to an entrepreneur for several reasons. First, they do not have to worry about archiving; second, they do not have to be concerned about unforeseen events, such as a disk burning out and data being lost; and third, they can be sure that all their documents will be in order in the event of an inspection.
Over the past 10 years, the number of entrepreneurs using electronically issued invoices has increased, so awareness of the benefits of e-invoicing is growing.
