The program is intended for pupils beginning compulsory one-year preschool preparation, education in grades I–III of primary school, or education in grades I–III of a first-degree general music school. Children from low-income families will receive subsidies (per-person income may not exceed PLN 351).
Applications for a school starter kit may be submitted by: the pupil’s parents (legal guardians, foster parents), as well as the head of the school or preschool, a teacher, a social worker or another person—with the consent of the legal representative or foster parents. A certificate stating the amount of income must be attached to the application. In justified cases, a statement of income may be attached instead of this document, and if the family receives social assistance, a certificate confirming receipt of a permanent or periodic benefit.
Subsidies for the purchase of textbooks:
- for children beginning compulsory one-year preschool preparation—up to PLN 70
- for pupils in grade I of primary schools and pupils in grade I of first-degree general music schools—up to PLN 130
- for pupils in grade II of primary schools and pupils in grade II of first-degree general music schools—up to PLN 150
- for pupils in grade III of primary schools and pupils in grade III of first-degree general music schools—up to PLN 170.
In special cases (that is, when the purchase was made before the program was implemented and the parent does not have a VAT invoice, receipt or bill), it is possible to submit a statement confirming the purchase of textbooks. The statement should include: the pupil’s first and last name, grade, titles and authors of the books, price, and the legible signature of the parent, legal guardian or foster parent.
Applications for a school starter kit should be submitted to the head of the school the pupil attends. The deadline is November 30.
