Another TBS building in Bolesławiec has been constructed at 11 Śluzowa Street. The association has handed over 40 new apartments (with one, two and three rooms) with a total area of more than 1,700 m². Each apartment has a balcony. Tenants will also have storage units in the basement at their disposal. Moreover, a room for storing prams and a drying room have been set aside in each staircase.
The apartments are ready to move into immediately. They are equipped with electric cookers, sinks, bathtubs, toilets and washbasins. The walls are painted and the floors are covered with carpeting. Importantly, the building has been adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. Children should also have no reason to complain—a small playground has been built here for them. In addition, all tenants will have access to utilities and communications services, including telephone and television. Despite this, those waiting will only be able to move in around September 10. That is when the decision of the Building Supervision Authority granting permission for use will become legally binding.
The building was constructed by a company from Zielona Góra. The investment was worth nearly PLN 5 million. The money came from the funds of the city municipality and TBS, as well as a loan taken out from the National Housing Fund. The rent is PLN 8.20 per 1 m². The apartments were allocated by a qualification committee.
“We would like further buildings to be constructed and for the next ones to be just as beautiful,” said Ilona Suchecka, president of TBS, during the official opening held on September 3. Mayor Piotr Roman added: “The Towarzystwo Budownictwa Społecznego is a company that carries out its tasks relatively cheaply, which does not mean that it does so poorly in technical terms.”
On September 3, the Januszek family received the keys to their apartment from Piotr Roman. “We are very happy,” Mariusz Januszek told the IstotneInformacje.pl portal. “We had been eagerly awaiting this apartment for four years.” As he admits, the family could afford neither to buy their own apartment nor to take out a loan. “It was the only solution for us,” the man added.
“TBS builds only for rental; these are not apartments that can become the tenants’ property,” Ilona Suchecka told us. “Anyone looking for an apartment and meeting the statutory conditions may submit an application.” There is no shortage of applicants. As we have established, around 120 applications are currently awaiting processing. In two years, the municipal company is to hand over two more buildings (80 apartments).
Detailed information about TBS can be found on the company’s website.
