The ninth edition of the Nationwide Logistics Olympiad can already be described as exceptional. A record 7,806 participants from 316 schools took part in the logistics competition. This is the highest result in the history of the contest, which has been organized for nine years. In the next stage, 712 students from across the country will compete. Among them are Joanna Marcinkowska, Hubert Rott and Krystian Szczęsny from Zespół Szkół Handlowych i Usługowych in Bolesławiec. Qualifying for the next round required a minimum of 23 out of 50 possible points.
– For several years, we have observed growing demand in the labor market for workers in the TSL sector. Young people’s increasing interest in the Nationwide Logistics Olympiad demonstrates their awareness of the career prospects offered by this industry. It also reflects the prestige and importance of the competition itself – emphasizes Wojciech Zalewski, vice-chancellor of Wyższa Szkoła Logistyki.
The regional stage of the Nationwide Logistics Olympiad will take place on December 2. Those with the best results will compete in the grand final, scheduled for March 3. There is a lot at stake – the best young logistics specialists can receive free studies at Wyższa Szkoła Logistyki, exemption from the written part of the examination confirming vocational qualifications, attractive internships at companies that are industry leaders, and valuable material prizes.
– For many students, winning the Nationwide Logistics Olympiad is the fulfillment of a dream, but also a gateway to a career in logistics, transport and forwarding. Victory in such a major event boosts self-confidence and opens many doors. The first of these is the opportunity to undertake free studies at Wyższa Szkoła Logistyki – adds Wojciech Zalewski.
The Nationwide Logistics Olympiad was first organized in 2008. Its aim is to spark interest in the TSL industry, influence the education of future logistics personnel, and help assess curricula in secondary and post-secondary schools. The Olympiad has been permanently included by the Central Examination Board in the list of tournaments and subject-specific olympiads related to a selected field of vocational knowledge, whose laureates and finalists are exempt from the written stage of the examination confirming vocational qualifications.
The Olympiad’s success would not have been possible without the support of its partners and sponsors. The competition is held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of National Education and the Education Development Center. Its substantive patrons are the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing and the Polish Logistics Society. The most important companies in the transport, forwarding and logistics industry have also contributed to organizing the event. The gold sponsors are: IMPERIAL Logistics, Grupa Wędzikowski, DPD Polska, JAS-FBG, MAHLE Behr Ostrów Wielkopolski, Dachser, STILL, Transics International and TimoCom. The silver sponsors are: PKN EPAL, DHL and PEKAES. TSLogistic is the Olympiad’s partner.
