Referring to a reader’s letter published in one of the latest issues of "Głos Bolesławca" (editorial title: "He Took an Advance and... Disappeared"), I would like to address several aspects of this matter. I should stress that I am very well acquainted with the activities of the "Żaluzje Kolor" company run by Mr Jacek P. In the passage below, I do not intend to defend or excuse fraud and theft (by Mr Jacek P.)—but rather to draw the editorial team’s and readers’ attention to the quality and scale of these phenomena.
Allow me to ask several rhetorical questions related to this issue.
Is concealing actual income by the "entrepreneurial" private sector not theft??
Is the widespread practice of employing workers "off the books" and extending a contract for specific work not fraud??
And is it not hypocrisy to publicly flaunt the religious and social sphere (in TLB and in the pages of GB) by people from the former system who have now been "converted" to pseudo-independence??
Considering the situation of our city Anno Domini 1995, I believe that this is no time to deal with "trivialities" such as the case of Mr Jacek P. Perhaps it is time for the genuine public service that municipal information bodies ought to provide.
