IN “GŁOS” A SERMON
“The latest issue of “Głos Bolesławca” is original, as it contains a historical supplement that managed to include a sermon by Bolesławiec priest Władysław Rączka, a historical article about the town by Edmund Maliński, and speeches by the heads of the town and commune, President Józef Król and Commune Head Kazimierz Gawron. This reading is an excellent showcase of assessments and the quality of reflection on the past and on the town’s development opportunities. We have not encountered such emotionally and factually diverse journalism in other local publications. It would be worthwhile for some local-government publishers to adopt this model of historical storytelling, even if only once every 50 years, because such an opportunity will not recur.
In “Głos” one can also read an inflammatory letter praising the National Armed Forces, a formation that, according to Jelenia Góra ZChN activists, supposedly played a fundamental role in liberating the western territories from German occupation, as well as an interesting “written portrait” of the strongest woman from Bolesławiec, Jolanta Anasiewicz, who recently broke several Polish records in powerlifting. We encourage you to read it – an engaging and varied publication.”
