Professor Maria ŁOPATKOWA, today a Senator of the Republic of Poland and author of a dozen or so pedagogical treatises, brought about the establishment of the institution of the Ombudsman for Children in Poland. Numerous activists of the Society of the Friends of Children had campaigned for this for many years. The youngest generation does not always live and develop in comfortable conditions, as we know all too well ourselves. We are pleased to announce that, by decision of the Committee for the Defense of Children's Rights, the title of Ombudsman for Children was awarded to JADWIGA BOBEK of Bolesławiec, a well-known and dedicated TPD activist (the office is located on Chrobrego Street).
We warmly congratulate her on this distinction and on the recognition of her achievements.
