A brilliant initiative of the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec is the organization of theater evenings in the “MONDAY AT THE THEATER” series. Audiences are encouraged to attend by artistically designed invitations (miniature works of graphic art) featuring a beautiful, delicate vignette (which we reproduce as a regular illustration for our cultural column) and a detailed program.
For example, on January 23 this year, the “ETIUDA” Theater Workshop presented Sławomir Mrożek’s “SERENADE” and Fragments from Part II of Adam Mickiewicz’s poem “DZIADY,” performed by the “TERAZ” Theater. The excellent choice of the evening’s subject matter, the intimate atmosphere of the Old Theater, and the performers’ verbal mastery—all this provided the audience with a rich aesthetic experience. During the interval, visitors could view an exhibition of children’s artwork and listen to a concert by a flute ensemble. It is worth recalling that the Bolesławiec MDK has already “turned” 40 (it was established on June 13, 1954), yet it continues to impress with the breadth of its achievements, as evidenced by hundreds of diplomas and awards. Most importantly, the school-age youth simply love and adore this institution, which provides not only decent entertainment and meaningful relaxation, but also creates full opportunities for intellectual development and learning. Congratulations on your ingenuity, openness, and the results of your educational work!
