Everything indicates that December will go down in the city’s history as the month when the interiors of the historic Town Hall are opened for use by the local government administration and the town’s councillors. The historic building has not only regained its former splendour from the period of its greatest prosperity, but has also been enhanced with new interior design solutions (marble-like flooring, wooden panelling and coffered ceilings, attractive restrooms, functional and modern communications systems, and modern office furniture). Today, this representative edifice meets European standards and serves as a proud showcase for the city—regardless of the opinions of its detractors.
