The City Board approved (a formal and legal requirement) the naming of the Municipal Public Library after Cyprian Kamil Norwid on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. The cultural institution, which has rendered valuable service to the city, now operates under normal conditions in the spacious building of a former nursery and is enjoying growing popularity—an unusual phenomenon given the nationwide decline in readership. On the occasion of this golden jubilee, we wish it many more successes and continued development of its rich collection.
