From 27 October to 6 November 1995, I was in Israel with my wife at the invitation of an IPA (International Police Association) officer. At the same time, police colleagues from Warsaw were there. The tourist itinerary included all the holy sites—Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the actual and purported sites of baptism (the Jordan), as well as other historical sites (the Western Wall) and tourist attractions (the Dead Sea), the desert, the Sea of Galilee, and Tel Aviv.
