The exhibition opening took place on 8 August at the Długa Gallery. “This exhibition seals our cooperation with Peter Tauscher’s Waldenburg Gallery,” Radosław Gajewski from the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre told IstotneInformacje.pl. Previously, the exhibition presenting works created during the 43rd International Ceramics and Sculpture Symposium was shown in Waldenburg.
The Waldenburg Gallery exhibition presents works by artists including Peter Tauscher, Fritz Diedering, Karl-Heinz Richter, Inge Ueberfeld and Frank Maibier. Most of the works were created during symposiums in Saxony. “These are truly extraordinary pieces,” says Radosław Gajewski.
Cooperation with Peter Tauscher’s gallery is to involve the exchange of experience and symposium artists. Saxony’s Waldenburg is a city that places its focus on ceramics. “Peter Tauscher has consolidated all the ceramic workshops, both large and small. He cooperates with the city authorities,” Gajewski explains. “Together, they are trying to give Waldenburg the character of a tourist city living from ceramics, and they are doing it very successfully. I think we should follow Peter Tauscher’s example,” he adds.
The highlight of the exhibition opened at the Długa Gallery will be its closing event, attended by artists associated with the Saxon gallery, led by Peter Tauscher. The event will take place on 28 August at 5:00 p.m. The 44th International Ceramics and Sculpture Symposium will officially conclude on the same day.
