At the beginning of March, the final of the art competition entitled "My Village in the Year 2000," organized by the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Kruszyn, was held. Children from the Bolesławiec municipality took part in the competition. The competition committee (jury), composed of artist Jolanta Czarnecka and art teachers Stanisława Wojda Pytlińska and Wiesława Gorczycka, expressed its opinion on the artistic qualities, colour schemes, composition and artistic versatility of the participants. The overall standard of the works was even and very good. The competition received 33 works by 31 authors from schools in Kraśnik Górny, Trzebień, Nowa Wieś Kraśnicka, Nowy Jaroszów and Kruszyn. Special recognition was deserved by the works whose authors were honoured with both diplomas and material prizes. All competition participants received gifts and certificates of participation. Special commendations were awarded to: Agatka Nieradka from Brzeźnik, Rafał Wróbel from Trzebień, Monika Zygadło from Trzebień, Janina Krynicka from Kruszyn, Anna Drozd from Brzeźnik, Urszula Rajczkowska from Nowa Wieś Kraśnicka and Justyna Jaworska from Kraśnik Górny.
After the results were announced, the GOKiS cabaret "Kobra" performed "A Little Study on the Creation of the World" for everyone gathered.
