The countdown for Earth is underway: climate chaos, mountains of waste and air pollution—all of this threatens to destroy us and our natural environment. It’s high time to act! You too can do something to protect the environment. Young people are competing with one another in their suggestions:
- produce less waste and sort it, but above all, do not produce so many plastic packages,
- impose greater penalties on businesses for discharging sewage into rivers or the sea,
- keep pointing out people’s mistakes and teach people ecological responsibility,
- install catalytic converters in cars and, in general, use gas engines rather than petrol engines,
- protect cities, because they have less and less greenery and more and more smog.
As we can see, these problems are not at all distant from us, the residents of Bolesławiec. We too contribute to the degradation of the natural environment. One example is the forest near Wojewódzki Szpital Psychiatryczny, where piles of rubbish and waste can be found. We are all producers of rubbish. We throw kitchen waste, packaging, used batteries and so on into the bin. Do we ever wonder what happens to them? They end up in landfills that nobody likes, but they also disfigure forests, rivers, ditches and nearly all depressions in the terrain. Does it have to be this way?
