ANNOUNCEMENT
Community Committee for the Purchase of Equipment
for the District Hospital in Bolesławiec
Established in December 1992, the Community Committee for the Purchase of a Cardiac Ultrasound Scanner, comprising Wacław Wawrzkiewicz, Feliks Gogol, Edward Burniak, Waldemar Skrzypiec, Janina Pietrzak and Franciszek Uściński, was renamed in July 1993 as the Community Committee for the Purchase of Medical Equipment for the Hospital in Bolesławiec. From December 1992 to 18 October 1993, it collected 747,946,900 zł.
From this amount, an ultrasound scanner with Doppler was purchased on 2 July 1993 and donated to the Hospital in Bolesławiec. The value of the donated equipment, including associated costs, amounted to 517,721,900 zł.
With the remaining amount, the Community Committee intends, at the Hospital’s request, to purchase additional equipment whose value will be approximately 260,000,000 zł or more, depending on the exchange rate of the dollar. Currently, the “Gift of the Heart” ultrasound account contains 230,243,000 zł, so there is a need to continue the collection. The Community Committee for the Purchase of Medical Equipment extends its heartfelt thanks to all donors, as well as to Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury, the State Music School, Telewizja Lokalna, Mr Zbigniew Mastalski and other people of goodwill for their help and cooperation, which made it possible for the campaign to operate.
The Community Committee appeals to new potential donors for support of the campaign so that this noble goal can be fully achieved.
Chairman of the Community Committee
A Heart for the Heart
