Police officers from Lubań arrested a man wanted by an international warrant. The 32-year-old resident of Lubań County had been in hiding for a long time. He had previously been convicted, among other things, of participation in an organized criminal group involved in extortion.
The man constantly changed his place of residence. He was caught by the police in Bolesławiec, where he was hiding in an acquaintance’s apartment. The arrested man was taken to Lubań. He was placed in pre-trial detention. He will spend the next several years behind bars.
The apartment owner must also reckon with criminal consequences. Helping to hide a wanted person is punishable by up to five years in prison.
