In the previous issue of Głos Bolesławca, we wrote about the Municipal Poetry Writing Competition, which stirred the imagination of children and young people and yielded numerous successful literary pieces. We presented the poems of the first-place winners. Today we present the works of the second- and third-place winners.
SECOND PLACE
“Nature”
I love nature very much—the forest, the meadow and the water. I love the mountains and the sea, especially at this time of year. I love flowers and the sun when I run across the meadow. I love everything that lives: animals, birds and butterflies. I want all children to know that nature is the greatest treasure, more precious than mountains of gold, because a world without nature would quickly perish like a flower without water.
Renata Skiba, Year 6, Brzeźnik Primary School
THIRD PLACE
“A Summer Memento”
Today, walking home from school, I found an autumn leaf—yellow, red and brown; no one else will have one like it.
I already know that summer is running away, as if something were missing. Autumn will find us here again in a day, or perhaps two.
Michał Mierzwa, Year 5, Brzeźnik Primary School
THIRD PLACE: EPIGRAMS
Teachers teach us to write and read; we can always ask them something. Yet most often it is they who ask the questions, although they have so much knowledge within them. They enter all sorts of grades in the register.
Including bad ones, so that the children will not be idle. Everyone gets nervous during the lesson, yet the register is full of twos anyway.
When you grow up
You will send your children
To the school where you studied
And to which you went as a child.
The school you disliked so much
And which you often avoided.
Iwona Krawczyk, Year 8
