On February 1 this year, a group of 20 students from the Medical High School in Bolesławiec, accompanied by their supervisors – headmistress Grażyna Zbieg and deputy headmistress Grażyna Czyżycka – travelled to Siegeburg, Germany. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the methods of education and the performance of professional activities related to saving human health and lives.
The management of the hospital in Siegeburg enabled us to learn about the work of the nurses there. Their work is considerably facilitated by the use of modern apparatus and equipment. The Siegburg staff showed us their trust, as confirmed by the entire day we spent working with experienced nurses. Each of us had the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and experience she had acquired at school during a hospital shift.
In addition to exchanging experiences, we were also able to visit nearby cities, such as Bonn and Cologne, as well as learn about the everyday life and customs of the local society. Thanks to the courtesy of the city authorities, our group had the honour of meeting the Mayor, who assured us during the discussions that lasting cooperation between the schools was possible. This cooperation was further confirmed by the visit of our friends, students from Siegeburg, who came to us so that they could in turn learn about our system of educating medical personnel and see our everyday life.
