In Bolesławiec, a total of 735 members belong to 9 Honorary Blood Donors’ Clubs (of which 4 workplace clubs have 145 members, 3 local clubs have 570, and 2 school clubs have 20 members).
During the past three quarters of this year, members of these clubs have donated 327 litres of blood. On the occasion of HONORARY BLOOD DONATION DAYS, a Regional Meeting of Distinguished Blood Donors and representatives of HBD clubs from the Bolesławiec region will be held (probably in the first half of December). At this meeting, honorary donors will be presented with state distinctions, badges for Distinguished Honorary Blood Donors, and diplomas.
The President of the Republic of Poland, at the request of the Bolesławiec Local Branch of the Polish Red Cross, awarded the Gold Crosses of Merit to the following donors: Eugeniusz Wiewiórski, Mirosław Szczepaniak, Marian Niemczyk, Jerzy Marek, Andrzej Szyper, Mirosław Dacyszyn, Mieczysław Małecki and Marek Liszka (all from Bolesławiec), as well as Stanisław Faltyn and Roman Skóra from Ocice and Stanisław Kulbida from Dobra. Each of the donors listed above has honourably donated more than 20 litres of blood.
Also at the request of the Bolesławiec Local Branch of the Polish Red Cross, distinctions called the CRYSTAL HEART will be presented, awarded by the Chapter in Warsaw. They will go to Sławomir Leszczyński from Bolesławiec and Henryk Wasilewski from Iwiny—donors who have honourably donated more than 25 litres of blood. Badges for Distinguished Honorary Blood Donors will be awarded to those club members who have honourably donated more than 12 and 13 litres of blood.
Special guests at the regional meeting will be Distinguished Honorary Donors who have donated between 30 and 40 litres of blood: Ludwik Czajkowski from Czerna, and Roman Bodak, Stanisław Pasisz, Zygmunt Myśliwiec and Jan Michalak from Bolesławiec.
