The news that residents of the municipality might have a chance to obtain a telephone has recently generated considerable interest. For years, such a possibility had been almost miraculous, and so today the information is being repeated with disbelief: will we, the residents of the villages, have a telephone at home?
The Municipal Council approved the concept of the technical and economic assumptions for the comprehensive installation of telephone services in the municipality, in the direction of the villages of: Kraśnik Dolny – Trzebień, Ocice – Kraszowice and Stare Jaroszowice. Equipping the project with digital exchanges and fibre-optic lines will allow it to be adapted to the modern, future-oriented technical solutions that Telekomunikacja Polska plans to introduce across the country. The estimated cost, amounting to several dozen billion złoty, is to be incurred over the next few years with the participation of interested residents. Thus, there is a chance of bringing communications to the small communities located far from Bolesławiec more quickly than to some districts of the town.
- In connection with the restructuring of the State Agricultural Farm now under way, the Municipal Council familiarised itself with the principles governing the sale and lease of land that the institution will transfer to the Agricultural Property Agency of the State Treasury. It was agreed that representatives of the Municipal Council and the Office would take part in the tender committee, while the PGR management should, for its part, widely publicise the offer of land listed for disposal.
- Can the difficult situation of education improve if its future depends entirely on local-government authorities? The Municipal Council’s Agriculture and Social Affairs Committee reviewed rural schools in order to develop a concept for organising and maintaining education in the context of its future takeover by the local government. Proposed necessary organisational changes at the schools will be agreed with village residents in order to develop the most rational solutions, bringing the greatest possible benefit to schoolchildren and young people.
