The topic I wish to address requires broader consideration, and I believe that specialists should also have their say.
Before our very eyes, the largest construction company in the province has ceased to exist – Bolesławieckie Przedsiębiorstwo Budowlane.
Not so long ago, when the company’s 25th anniversary was celebrated ceremonially, nothing indicated that it would soon disappear from the map of businesses. But it happened.
Quietly and without publicity, the company’s equipment and assets are being sold off. Those who are more resourceful and have money are buying whatever remains for sale. It is all very sad. But these are the realities of a crisis. Another question is whether this could have been avoided. But those who managed the company until recently should answer that themselves.
The members of the Housing Cooperative waiting for apartments, as well as the students of the School Complex of Construction, who until recently completed their practical training at the company, have been left in the worst situation. On 1 September this year, the students of the School Complex of Construction and their parents were asking themselves: what next? The dramatic situation was rescued by Zbigniew Junik, president of the company "MODERNBUD". He fully understood the school’s problems and employed 123 students as trainees at his company. President Junik assumed that a student on practical training is also, at the same time, a worker. Their productivity is considerably lower, but the student wage fund is also small, which ultimately must make it profitable for the company. Given the company’s prospects, there is also a chance of future training for students in shortage occupations such as roofer, equipment operators, and others.
It should be expected that, like the Construction and Assembly Company "MODERNBUD" Limited Liability Company – which is the firm’s full name – it will find imitators.
