DEAR READERS!
Today’s issue of “Głos” is a holiday edition, intended for reading in July and August.
Since it is written for free by a small group of people, we cannot be sure that during the holiday season we will manage to gather enough material; everyone has some plans for the summer break. The second reason is our modest funds. We can (probably) hope for possible assistance from the city budget only in the new year, so we must preserve our limited resources for publishing “Głos” in the autumn months.
We would also like to encourage you to write. We will be interested in—and I believe our Readers will be too—your more interesting holiday adventures (perhaps someone will manage to arrange a great holiday at little cost), but you can and should write on every subject.
We would gladly open a literary section (poems, humorous verses about the city, etc.). Write also about your problems, matters requiring improvement, difficulties and joys.
In the meantime, we wish you sunny and successful holidays. Until our next meeting—in September!
And one more thing. The holiday issue of “Głos,” as you can easily see, is considerably longer. Therefore, please do not be surprised that we have raised its price, rather timidly, by 500 zl.
Will 2,500 zł be an expense that will strain the family budgets of the residents of our town so much that “Glos” will remain on the newsstands? We believe that, like the previous issues, it will nevertheless find its way “under the thatched roofs.”
