Cleanup action completed
In Bolesławiec, 8 preschools, 10 primary schools, 7 secondary schools, the Municipal Library, MOSiR, the Museum of Ceramics and many unaffiliated individuals took part in the “Cleanup Action” – over 4,433 people in total. A total of 1,500 large bags, 3,000 small bags and 3,000 pairs of gloves were purchased, and 69 loads of rubbish were removed (costs covered by the Municipal Office).
The cleanup covered municipal forests and the Jeleniogórska forest district, green areas and the city... We are grateful to all those who worked so valiantly to improve conditions... it would be good if such an “Action” lasted all year.
We appeal to all residents
- Let us take care of the cleanliness of our environment!!! Thank you, and see you...
The gift of blood is a gift of the heart, continued
In Poland, voluntary blood donation is the customary form, and it already has a long tradition. People constantly talk about the lack of funds for healthcare. Paying donors for blood would only worsen the situation. I also think there is no need for this in a Catholic country. During a solemn Holy Mass on 30 September 1995, Cardinal Józef Glemp stated, among other things:
"[...] But there is another way of giving blood. Not in a fatal manner, but in a medically regulated way, when someone gives part of their blood so that another person, a brother or sister, can regain their health and continue living. For these people, it is no longer martyrdom or heroism; it is Honor. And this adjective should belong to these people in a very official, recognized and honored manner. For everyone who gives part of their blood, and thus gives something of their life in the name of human solidarity, not only demonstrates human heroism, but joins in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who was the first to show how blood is given for others. Christ for eternal salvation, others to save temporal life.[...]"
I care about blood donations that would provide for the daily needs of the sick. I am not referring to spontaneous, one-time campaigns. I think that, for current needs, it would be enough for every healthy person to donate blood once a year.
Once again, I would like to emphasize the enormous importance of family blood donation. Giving blood does not have to conflict with work at all. A donor can choose a time convenient for themselves and their employer. I appeal to directors and business owners for goodwill and common sense – every one of us will probably need such an invaluable medicine as blood someday. Where will it come from if many people do not feel obliged to help one another? Indifference in this matter seems particularly cruel and short-sighted to me.

The Home for Single Mothers with Children and People with Disabilities is located in Świeradów Zdrój at 7 Strażacka Street; you can also call there at 075-16-294.
This Home awaits people with warm hearts who can and want to help solve the living problems of its residents. That is what Mr and Mrs Kuduk – Danuta and Stanisław – did. They traveled from Kruszyn to Świeradów and delivered food supplies for the Home’s residents. Heartfelt thanks to them for their kindness and readiness to help those in need...
Many things are needed at this Home: food supplies, footwear, clothing, fuel and many, many other items... We make a heartfelt appeal to the residents of the City of Bolesławiec and neighboring cities and municipalities to help the people who live in this Home. We repeat the address:
