Since 1993, students and teachers from the music schools of Siegburg and Bolesławiec have been making music together. From 22 to 28 May this year, another music workshop was held at the State Music School, First Degree, in Bolesławiec. The workshop concluded with a joint spring concert in the new hall of the neighboring PSM building, which was still unfinished, attracting a record number of listeners. The PSM presented a march from the operetta "The Merry Widow" and the waltz "On the Slopes of Manchuria," performed by the mandolin ensemble under the direction of Zofia Michalska, MA; Prelude No. 1 by Villa-Lobos, performed by Marcin Stopyra on guitar; and E. Flis's lullaby, performed on the flute by Katarzyna. The performers were excellently conducted in turn by Dorota Pińczuk, MA, and Hans Peter Herkenhoher. Such a successful performance was the result of a week-long music workshop led by: Dorota Pińczuk, Hans Peter Herkenhoher, Werner Kampe, Bettina Hanschel-Ludemann, Leszek Żyzny, Dorota Popek, Urszula Patalej, Ryszard Kurzydło, Piotr Jędrasik, and Marian Kostecki.
The joint music-making by students from Bolesławiec and Siegburg was made possible thanks to funding from the city budget and resources from the "Nysa" Euroregion. The School Social Council also wishes to thank the Donors who provided material support to the school in hosting the guests: Mr. Ryszard Ruliński, Mr. Jan Kędzierski, and Mr. Franciszek Kindzierski. From 18 to 23 June, students from Bolesławiec's Music School will make a return visit to Siegburg, where they will take part in the Music Festival of North Rhine-Westphalia.
