On 5 May 1996, the Culture and Sports Centre in Nowogrodziec held the eighth edition of the Miss Spring contest. The contest took place at the village Culture Centre in Czerna.
Twenty-two girls from the municipality entered the preliminary rounds. The candidates for the Miss title were assessed by a jury consisting of: Chairperson Edward Szczerbień; members Stanisława Ojewska, Alicja Kiełbowicz, Edward Widuch and Krzysztof Nagórniewicz.
Taking grace, elegance and intelligence into account, the jury awarded:
Second runner-up – Ewa Marut from Zebrzydowa; first runner-up – Amelia Półtoranos from Zebrzydowa; Miss – Magdalena Reszke from Nowogrodziec.
The title of Miss Popularity went to Agnieszka Szewc, a resident of Czerna.
The event was accompanied by performances by artistic groups.
