Our school’s cooperation with GOKiS in Kruszyn is developing very well. Knowing that schools do not have the sound equipment needed for outdoor events, GOKiS is very happy to help organize larger events.
As last year, so this year, the friendly instructors, Ms Grażyna Wężyk and Mr Ryszard Rojek, together with physical education teacher Marian Bis, organized a sports and recreation festival on the occasion of Children’s Day.
Traditionally, we had beautiful, sunny weather. Thanks to the efforts undertaken, the school surroundings gained a better appearance. The surfaces of the pavement and sports field were hardened; the playground now has a sandbox and a merry-go-round, which the village head, Antoni Pachołek, repaired to the children’s great delight.
The parish priest, Father Jan Czachor, celebrated an outdoor Mass for the children, followed by an Olympic assembly. The headmistress, Jadwiga Ostrowska, extended her heartfelt wishes to all the children and encouraged them to take up sport and achieve the best possible results.
During the sports and recreation section, a youth jury worked tirelessly to assess the performers appearing in the mini hit parade. With the help of eighth-grade students, Mr Marian Bis, making highly skilled use of the microphone, conducted and commented on all the sporting events: matches, races over various distances, and so on. GOKiS instructors organized various competitions and games,
One of the more interesting competitions involved catching an egg with a butterfly net. The Chairwoman of the School Council, Ms Ewa Fila, the headmistress, female teachers and female students took part. The school record was set by Ms Anna Rudzik, who caught the egg from a distance of 9.80 m and was entered in the school chronicle.
The best participants in all the sports competitions received diplomas and books funded by the Parents’ Council, while the GOKiS instructors presented attractive gifts.
Then we roasted delicious sausages and quenched our thirst with compote prepared by the parents.
The excellent weather, organization and music, the microphones that made everything audible, and the artistic setting of the event—we were able to view an exhibition of artworks by winners of the Municipal Art Competition, including four of our students, brought especially for the occasion—all of this made the event extremely successful and left an indelible impression in our memories.
