Accidents
Nowe Jaroszewice, road no. 297 – an Opel Vectra collided with a Renault truck; as a result, those travelling in the vehicles suffered general bruising, and the Opel’s driver died.
On the E-12 route, a German national driving a Citroën skidded and hit a roadside tree. Two passengers suffered general injuries; the driver left the scene of the accident, and the car was completely destroyed.
II Armii WP – an Audi hit a woman who ran onto the road. She suffered fractures of her limbs and remained in hospital.
Road no. 4 – a Volkswagen Jetta skidded and went into a ditch. The washing machine being transported fell and crushed a passenger, breaking his ribs.
Road no. 252 – near Parzyce, an Audi collided with a Liaz truck; as a result of the accident, the Audi’s female passenger suffered a spinal injury.
Thefts
- Kliczków – an unknown man approached the user of an Opel Kadet belonging to a German national, intending to buy it. Under the pretext of taking a test drive, he got into the car and drove away with its documents.
Godzieszów – several garages were broken into, and a Renault was stolen from one of them.
Asnyka Street, Bolesławiec – an Audi 100 was stolen to the detriment of a German national. Value: approximately PLN 30,000.
The Bolesławiec Municipal Office building was broken into by forcing open cabinet doors. Identity card forms, fiscal stamps and money were stolen; subsequently, a Renault was stolen. Losses amounted to approximately PLN 40,000.
Brzeźnik – for undetermined reasons, a barn containing agricultural equipment and crops caught fire. During the firefighting operation, the roof collapsed, injuring two firefighters.
In Bolesławiec, an unknown assailant knocked down a woman walking along the pavement and then snatched her handbag containing documents and PLN 43. The woman broke her arm.
