The Artistic Events Department proposes the following for April and May:
1/ When the Cat’s Away... by Mortimer and Cook, directed by Wowo Bielicki (Dramatic Theatre in Wałbrzych).
This is a contemporary comedy of manners that is highly popular with both adults and young people. Planned date: 23 April 1996.
2/ Vivisection by Bohdan Panicz, directed by B. Gorczyca (Dramatic Theatre in Wałbrzych).
Sex education is a major challenge for schools. A difficult task. This performance comes to the aid of schools, as it has been specially prepared for young people. It received positive reviews in the national press. It addresses love, eroticism, unwanted pregnancy, AIDS and responsibility for another person.
We can organise it in an intimate setting (at a club) for 2–3 classes. We highly recommend it. Planned date: 16–17 April 1996.
3/ The Maiden’s Vows by A. Fredro, performed by actors from the Contemporary Theatre in Wrocław, with Dariusz Kordek appearing as a guest. Planned date: 7–10 April 1996.
4/ The Emigrants by Sławomir Mrożek, directed by Jan Błeszczyński and performed by actors from the Wanda Siemaszkowa Theatre in Rzeszów. Guest appearances by Cezary Pazura and Olaf Lubaszenko. Planned date: June 1996.
5/ Gombrowicz’s Wedding and A. Fredro’s Revenge, performed by actors from the Lubuski Theatre in Zielona Góra. Planned date: June 1996.
Whether the proposed repertoire items listed above will be staged will depend on the needs of Bolesławiec schools. Further information is available from the Artistic Agency Department of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre, headed by Iwona Bojko (tel. 41-24).
