On 18 January, a New Year’s Concert was held in the hall of the Old Theatre, featuring students of the State Music School. The guests of honour at the concert were people who had financially or materially supported our school in the previous year.
As city residents know, finishing work is under way on the school’s new building, entailing a significant financial outlay. Last year’s appeal for help, issued by the School Council to institutions, companies and private individuals, did not go unheard. During the New Year’s Concert, PSM director Dorota Pińczuk thanked the City Council, the Municipal Council, the President of the Management Board of Bolesławiecka Fabryka Materiałów Medycznych "Polfa", Stanisław Kozłowski, Andrzej Nowicki and Tadeusz Wojciuk, representing the company "Amfora", Wanda Rutkowska and Danuta Arndt from Technika Biurowa, the Szweda family, Stanisław wiza, the Wojtkiewicz family, the Hałabura family, Tadeusz Tomaszak, and the command of the Bolesławiec Military Unit for their financial support. The New Year’s Concert was dedicated to all the Donors; its programme consisted predominantly of popular music. The performers were: Adrian Abramowicz, Piotr Szczepański (accordion), Alicja Szaja, Gabriela Szaja, Katarzyna Wąsik (piano), Magdalena Anuszkiewicz, Katarzyna Wasylkowska, Kamila Salwerowicz (flute), Maria Klepaczek (viola), Paweł Kindzierski (trumpet), Kamila Cawricz (keyboard), Marcin Stopyra and Łukasz Michalski (guitar), as well as the accompanying teachers: Janina Judek, Jolanta Samonek and Krzysztof Kucharczyk.
In addition to the solo and wind performances, larger ensembles also appeared: a brass ensemble prepared by Ryszard Kurzydło, a mandolin ensemble conducted by Zofia Michalska, and the school orchestra "Odeon", led by Dorota Pińczuk and Leszek Żyzny.
