The Dni Gromadki 2008 celebrations will begin on Friday, June 13. At 4:00 p.m., the Evening of Emotions will be held in the auditorium of the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Gromadka. Guests will be able to watch the performance “Meeting of Four Cultures” and meet local poets Ryszard Adam Gruchawka and Michał Oleśniewicz. The event will conclude with the presentation of awards and diplomas to the winners of the Regional Art Competition “The Natural and Cultural Values of Lower Silesia”.
A Sporting Saturday
Saturday, June 14, will be devoted to sport. At 8:00 a.m., the International Indoor “5-a-side” Football Tournament for Teams from Abstinence Clubs will be held in the sports hall at the school complex in Gromadka. Competing for victory will be: the Bolesławiec Abstainers’ Association “Przemiana”, egv. Feren “Comenbek” from Zittau, the “Nowe Życie” Abstinence Club from Szczawno-Zdrój, the “Relaks” Abstinence Club from Złotoryja, the “Eden” Abstinence Club from Piechowice and the “S.T.O.P” Association from Legnica.
At 2:00 p.m., the Indoor “5-a-side” Football Tournament for Seniors will take place, featuring teams including MKS Karkonosze Jelenia Góra, BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec, LZS Jawa Otok, MKS Granica Bogatynia, Górnik Węgliniec and GKS Gromadka.
Sunday, June 15
At noon, a Holy Mass will be celebrated at the sports stadium in Gromadka. Afterwards, at 1:30 p.m., residents of our county will have the opportunity to see an artistic programme. Performers will include the Children’s and Youth Wind Orchestra from Nowogrodziec, children from schools in Gromadka Municipality, the vocal and instrumental ensemble “GONG” from the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Gromadka, and the “Bolesławiec” Song and Dance Ensemble (Bolesławiec Cultural Centre).
At 4:30 p.m., the spectacular outdoor show for children “About the Egg” will begin, followed at 5:15 p.m. by the 6th Meeting of Four Cultures. Performing on stage will be: the Volunteer Fire Brigade Wind Orchestra from Chocianów, accordionist Stanisław Puzio, “Niezapominajki” from Osła, “Wierzbowianki” from Wierzbowa, “Ale-Babki” from Różyniec, “Wrzos” from Chocianów and the “Relaks” Senior Citizens’ Club from Gromadka.
At 8:00 p.m., the Wrocław “Aja – Kalambur” Cabaret Group will entertain the audience. At 10:00 p.m., a concert by disco polo star Maxel will begin. The Dni Gromadki celebrations will conclude with a fireworks display and a dance party with the Axel band.
These are not the only attractions awaiting residents of our county in Gromadka this weekend. Visitors will also be able to see demonstrations of dog training, military equipment from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Brigade in Bolesławiec and the 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów, as well as firefighting equipment. In addition, Bolesławiec police officers from the rapid-response unit will demonstrate their skills during the celebrations.
