Local newspapers often contain information that one of the municipalities in the Jelenia Góra region has been the first to prepare a place for a Polish family wishing to move here permanently from Kazakhstan. These are commendable initiatives, fully deserving of support.
It should nevertheless be noted, immodestly, that the distinction of being first undoubtedly belongs to... Bolesławiec, as we have already written in “Glos”, quoting a letter from the Szymański couple. As early as last year’s summer holidays, the City Board decided to prepare suitable accommodation and an employment offer. There will be no problem finding work, because the Polish-origin family consists of a mechanic, a medical doctor and a daughter—a teacher studying in Lublin. The youngest son attends secondary school. Judging from the correspondence, the matter is approaching a happy conclusion.
