On 25 November 1995, the General Reporting and Election Meeting of the members and supporters of Bolesławiecki Klub Sportowy was held. In an intimate hall, kindly made available by Bolesławieckie Zakłady Materiałów Ogniotrwałych, a group of people who wanted positive changes in sport in Bolesławiec gathered.
A report on the Club’s activities during the previous term was presented by the President, engineer Edward Kłaput, who had held the position since February 1993.
During the meeting, the Club’s new authorities were elected for the next four-year term. Edward Kłaput was re-elected President; the Vice-Presidents are Dariusz Mucha and Ludwik Ambroży. The board is completed by Colonel Ryszard Jarmużek, Jarosław Molenda, Jerzy Sobczak and Jerzy Kosowski, who is also serving as the Club manager. We will assess what kind of board this is after some time. The start will certainly be very difficult; much ingenuity will be needed to maintain the Club’s current position. However, no one is throwing up their hands. The 40-year history of BKS obliges us to act. The enthusiasm and energy of our young people from Bolesławiec must be directed toward sport. BKS must mean something on Poland’s sporting map.
How does the currently elected President, engineer Edward Kłaput, see the board’s work and the Club’s future? The main goal is not to lose what has been achieved in sport, but rather to develop all sections, particularly football, which has always been the leading discipline. Another goal is to create a training base, whose absence is such a serious problem for us, for example by making greater use of the sports facilities located on the grounds of OWS on Spacerowa Street.
We will try to attract Club supporters who have the capacity to provide financial and material assistance, since subsidies from the Municipal and Provincial Offices do not cover all needs.
I see new possibilities and the necessary optimism. We must succeed.
