On 24 May 1997, the 3rd Bolesławiec Chess Tournament was held at Primary School No. 6 in Bolesławiec, with 31 students from Primary Schools No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10 taking part.
The competition was organized by Zdzisława Hryniewicz, a mathematics teacher, and judged by Zbigniew Kaźmierski, MA. The individual winners were: 1st place – Kamil Trykowski, Primary School No. 6, who won the Cup of the Association of Creative Teachers; 2nd place – Zdzisław Żółtański, Primary School No. 8; 3rd place – Grzegorz Grzebieniak, Primary School No. 8; 4th place – Marzena Mucha, Primary School No. 6; 4th place – Michał Bojko, Primary School No. 3.
The team winners were: 1st place – Primary School No. 6, awarded the ACT Cup; 2nd place – Primary School No. 8, awarded the ACT Cup; 3rd place – Primary School No. 2; 4th place – Primary School No. 10; 4th place – Primary School No. 1.
