On December 17 and 19, concerts entitled "A Morning with Carols" were held in the auditorium of the Youth Cultural Centre, performed by the "Mały Bolesławiec" Song and Dance Ensemble. The children from Bolesławiec preschools were an exceptionally appreciative audience.
On December 17, children from the music studio of the Youth Cultural Centre, led by Ms Agnieszka Kaszuba, performed a carol concert at the Day Care Centre. The young vocalists and instrumentalists were warmly applauded by the residents of the centre. This was not the first concert organised by the Youth Cultural Centre for senior citizens. The children are happy to perform for them because the atmosphere during the concerts is exceptionally warm and friendly. The seniors do not even hide their tears of emotion. Similar concerts were also held at the Children's Home and at the secondary school.
On December 19, there was also the premiere of the play "The Trial of Socrates", based on the work of Halina Poświatowska, performed by young people from the "Etiuda" theatre studio of the Youth Cultural Centre.
The series of theatre meetings entitled "Monday at the Theatre" will resume in January. Due to the audience being limited to 50 people, those wishing to see the performance must take this restriction into account.
On December 18, representatives of the Village Museum in Markersdorf (Germany) visited us. The museum has long cooperated with the art studio led by Ms Stanisława Wojda-Pytlińska. This pre-Christmas meeting will lead to joint ceramic and art plein-air workshops in February, May, September, October and December in Germany and Poland.
Lidia Lewandowska, a student of Ms Wiesława Goryczka, received an honourable mention in the National Christmas Card Competition organised in Kraków by the Foundation for People with Disabilities!
Congratulations, and we wish you even greater distinctions.
