For the first time in the history of Bolesławiec, a medium-sized city, we have our representatives in the highest organs of power of the Republic of Poland—the Sejm and the Senate. Although the Senator and the Deputy represent voters from the entire voivodeship, both live in Bolesławiec. In the Sejm, we are represented by Deputy Jan Kisiliczyk, MSc Eng., and in the Senate by Senator Edmund Maliński, PhD. Both were elected from the Democratic Union list.
Jan Kisiliczyk, MSc Eng., is the director of the District Office in Bolesławiec. He is already serving his second term as a Deputy. In the Sejm, he works on the Committee for Spatial, Construction and Housing Policy, as deputy chairman of the team responsible for drafting a new construction law.
Dr Edmund Maliński is the director of the Teacher Training College in Bolesławiec. As a senator, he works on the Committee on Culture, Mass Media, Science and National Education. The parliamentary and senatorial office is located in the Town Hall, room 21. It is open on Mondays from 3 to 6 p.m., and from Tuesday to Friday from 12:15 to 6:15 p.m. Tel. 46-94. The Deputy and the Senator, however, receive constituents on Tuesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. (of course, provided they are not working in Warsaw at that time).
Regardless of their office hours in Bolesławiec, the Deputy and the Senator receive constituents every other Monday in Jelenia Góra, at 22 Krótka Street, from 2 to 4 p.m.; tel. 237-21.
Residents of Bolesławiec have the opportunity to bring problems to their representatives, which will be considered and resolved whenever possible.
