On Sunday, May 11, the boys from UKS Kusy-Starbol took part in the Mini European Football Championship. The football competition took place in Bautzen, Germany. The Bolesławiec team was the only team from Poland, so it represented the national colors. Unfortunately, our team managed to win only against the Czech Republic (1–0, goal by Leszczyński). We lost, among others, to Germany (0–3), Austria (0–2), and Croatia (0–1).
Taking part in the tournament was a major experience for the young people from Bolesławiec and an opportunity to face peers from European football academies. The competition took place in a family atmosphere. The young footballers were cheered on most loudly by their parents. After the tournament, each team was awarded medals, footballs, sets of jerseys, and a commemorative statuette. The Bolesławiec team was also invited to a tournament to be organized to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of one of the German clubs.
The trip organizers, Damian Sawczak and Adrian Bernacki, thank the parents for their support, without which the young people from Bolesławiec could not have competed in Bautzen.
