The investor for the “Optimization of the Bolesławiec heating system” project will be the Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej. Gmina Miejska Bolesławiec will allocate PLN 2,800,000 for this purpose from a loan it has taken out. The loan will be repaid from the city budget. ZEC’s own contribution to the investment will amount to PLN 2 million; the plant will borrow the remaining funds from the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection.
The modernization is to be carried out this year. Its main objective is to connect the independent network systems (the so-called link). Currently, the network systems are supplied by two heating plants (Central and Municipal). Thanks to the link, the Municipal Heating Plant will be closed. Heat energy will be supplied through a single network system, which will significantly improve the reliability of energy supplies while reducing the plant’s operating costs and environmental pollution.
The investment will also bring social benefits. It will guarantee stable heat prices for almost half of Bolesławiec’s residents in the coming years. In addition, it will improve the aesthetics of our city. Thanks to the link, the heating network pipes in the area of Kościuszki Street will disappear.
