On January 25, the jury (comprising Maria Matyjewicz, chairwoman, Bożena Kuchmacz and Barbara Deberna) evaluated the works submitted for “Winter”, the second part of the GOKiS regional competition in Gormadka – “Natural and Cultural Values of Lower Silesia”. The competition entries were to depict natural or historic sites that can be found in Lower Silesia. The only requirement for participation was age (at least 5 years old). The format of the works was unrestricted. The judges selected 105 winners.
More than 400 people from 37 institutions in Bolesławiec, Legnica, Polkowice, Zgorzelec, Głogów and Lubań counties took part in the competition, including preschool children, primary school pupils, and students from middle and secondary schools. Adults and participants of the Occupational Therapy Workshops in Bolesławiec also took part in the event. The full list of winners is available on the GOKiS website in Gromadka.
The ceremonial presentation of prizes and certificates took place on February 8, 2008, in the GOKiS Auditorium Hall in Gromadka at 9 Szkolna Street. The ceremony was combined with the opening of the post-competition exhibition. The awarded works will soon be available to view on the competition organizer’s website.
