The Piękna Helena Cabaret, performing under the auspices of the Helena Modrzejewska Drama Theatre in Legnica, presented the satirical play “Skumbrie w tomacie”, based on texts by Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński. The show was interactive. The Legnica actors established direct contact with the audience gathered on 5 February in the auditorium of the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre in Gromadka.
During the official part, Deputy Marshal Borys, on behalf of the Lower Silesian Regional Assembly, presented a cheque for PLN 50,000 to Dariusz Pawliszczy, the commune head. The money will go towards the school rebuilding fund in Wierzbowa.
During the performance, charity bricks with a nominal value of PLN 10 were sold. During the interval, a set of cufflinks donated by Dariusz Mucha and commune head Dariusz Pawliszczy’s tie were auctioned for this worthy cause.
The artistic programme was complemented by an accordion concert performed by Stanisław Puzio. The artist played waltzes, Ogiński polonaises and a csárdás from Strauss’s repertoire with great virtuosity.
The event was organised thanks to the support of Jacek Głomb, director of the Drama Theatre in Legnica, and the generosity of sponsors who covered the cost of baking the cakes.
