The 69-year-old taxi driver died in a hospital in Wrocław yesterday evening. From the moment he was attacked, three weeks ago, he never regained consciousness. Police are still searching for the person responsible for beating the taxi driver. A PLN 9,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the attacker’s capture.
Taxi drivers from Bolesławiec are deeply upset by the news of their colleague’s death. They fear that the attacker may strike again.
As a reminder, the attack took place on January 5 after 3:00 p.m. near Krępnica, close to Bolesławiec. An unknown man beat a taxi driver from the "Taxi-Plus" company and fled in his car. Passers-by found the 69-year-old, unconscious and suffering from a head injury. Since then, police have found the taxi driver’s car, as well as a bloodstained belt and sweater belonging to the attacker.
