Five married couples celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding. Nowadays, as the institution of marriage is becoming less popular and not everyone decides to legalize their relationship, such ceremonies are held increasingly rarely. It is therefore no surprise that the couples’ perseverance was rewarded with commemorative medals awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland.
On October 16, at the Wedding Palace in Bolesławiec, five couples renewed the marriage vows they had made half a century ago: Klara and Józef Bakalarzowie, Anna and Zygmunt Giemzowie, Irena and Jan Kornatowscy, Maria and Józef Mazurowie, and Maria and Boleslaw Trzcinscy. The ceremony was enhanced by a performance by the ensemble of the State Music School in Bolesławiec.
