The following primary schools and lower-secondary schools are covered by the surveillance system: Miejski Zespół Szkół Nr 1 on Dolne Młyny Street, Miejski Zespół Szkół Nr 2 on Jana Pawła Street, Primary School No. 2 on Bankowa Street, Primary School No. 3 on Ceramiczna Street and Primary School No. 4 on Mikołaja Brody Street.

Cameras at these institutions were installed on the buildings to prevent damage to façades and sports facilities, as well as inside the schools (for example, in cloakrooms). The funds for installing the surveillance system came from the government programme “Video surveillance in schools and educational institutions” and from the budget of the City of Bolesławiec. The installation cost more than PLN 73,000, including the PLN 58,000 grant obtained. The municipality contributed more than PLN 15,000 from its own funds.

Currently, only Gimnazjum Samorządowe Nr 2 does not have video surveillance. In 2008, the Social Department of the Bolesławiec City Hall plans to submit another application to the Lower Silesian Voivode for a grant to expand surveillance in educational institutions.
