The local authorities of five voivodeships, including Dolnośląskie, have not launched scholarship programmes. Officials explain that the delay is the fault of the Ministry of Economy and Labour, which failed to issue the regulations and necessary documents. Meanwhile, the voivodeships that decided to pay the scholarships took a risk, as they took out loans for the scholarships without knowing whether the money would be reimbursed.
Students and pupils in Dolnośląskie Voivodeship will probably receive the money they are waiting for in November. However, they can forget about compensation dating back to September—the scholarship is calculated only from the day the programme is launched.
This news will nevertheless upset few people. The entire Bolesławiec County will receive only about 10 scholarships for students.
