The Bolesławiec bridge players began their II League sporting bridge campaign with mixed results. BKB Prnjavor Bolesławiec played five matches at the first tournament in Gliwice, winning three times and suffering two defeats. As a result, our team is in the middle of the second-tier standings. The second team, competing in the III League, achieved a similar result at the tournament in Brzeg Dolny.

The start of the second-tier campaign was very promising. In their debut, our team defeated Silesia II COIG Gliwice 18:12. The second match, against Panta Team Łódź, ended in an even more convincing 20:10 victory. At that point, our team was second in the standings!

Unfortunately, in the final match of the first day, the Bolesławiec players suffered their first defeat, losing 11:19 to one of the II League favourites, ZKS I Opole. The Opole team includes, among others, European champions and World Junior Championships runners-up in the older junior category: Konrad Araszkiewicz and Dariusz Kowalski.

Our team also suffered a heavy 7:23 defeat in the derby against Konfeks Legnica. Fortunately, the next match ended in a 16:14 victory over WZBS Michalczyk i Prokop Łódź. As a result, the Bolesławiec bridge players are 10th in the standings, just a short distance behind the leaders. Only the top six teams have a chance of promotion to the top division. Our team consisted of Antoni Ochot and Artur Winkler, Wiesław Tabiszewski and Lech Warężak, and Jarosław Molenda (captain) and Jerzy Olenderek.

The second team, Pogrom Bolesławiec, began its III League campaign by defeating, in succession: RAG AZS Wrocław (relegated from the II League) 24:6 (!), AZS Politechnika Wrocław XII 19:11, and AZS Politechnika III Wrocław 23:7. It then suffered two defeats: 8:22 against AZS Politechnika IX Wrocław and 2:25 against AZS Politechnika VII Wrocław. The team consisted of Jerzy Zatylny, Jerzy Snopczyński, Tomasz Łowicki, Norbert Wolski and Roland Lippik (captain).

The next tournament in both the II and III leagues will take place on 17–18 November.
