The entire Piwnica Paryska was filled on Sunday, October 14, with people who came to the opening of an exhibition of photographs from the first edition of the Parade of Love for Clay. For the duration of the exhibition, the restaurant was transformed into a true art gallery. More than 40 photographs featuring Glinoludy were displayed at Piwnica Paryska. The exhibition of 30 competition photographs was accompanied by a display of very good works by the well-known Bolesławiec photographer Grzegorz Matoryn.
Attendance at the exhibition opening far exceeded the organizers’ expectations. Among those present at Piwnica Paryska were Deputy Mayor Maciej Małkowski, Starosta Cezary Przybylski, BOK director Ewa Zbroja, councillors of the City Council and County Council, and people actively involved in Bolesławiec’s cultural life.
During this exceptional opening, guests were served by a Glinoludka, while the center of the main exhibition hall featured an unusual pair—a kissing pair of Glinoludy, known to Boleslawiec.org readers, among other things, from an excellent photograph by Marcin Mazurkiewicz.
The exhibition opening was combined with the announcement of the results of a photography competition previously organized by Via Sudetica and our portal. Our readers selected the winning photographs from among the 30 works recognized by the competition jury.
The author of the best photograph from Gliniada turned out to be Krzysztof Łukasiewicz, whose work—entitled "Big Star"—received almost 100 points. Photographs by the aforementioned Marcin Mazurkiewicz took second and fourth place. Third place went to Beata Dudyńska, author of the photograph "Venus." Fifth place went to Pavlina Stefańczyk for "Two Dolls." The prizes were presented to the winners by Aneta Opała and Bogusław Nowak. Pavlina Stefańczyk’s prize was collected by her daughter on her behalf.
Present at the opening, Starosta Bolesławiecki Cezary Przybylski promised that Powiat Bolesławiecki would certainly provide financial support to the organizers of the Parade of Love for Clay next year. Deputy Mayor of Bolesławiec Maciej Małkowski, meanwhile, declared his cooperation in organizing the event. Ewa Zbroja, director of the Bolesławiec Cultural Center, also congratulated the organizers and originators of Gliniada.
A surprise for those gathered at the exhibition was a greeting from Robert Makłowicz. The honorary member of Via Sudetica joined by telephone and greeted all the guests at Piwnica Paryska. Robert Makłowicz promised that he would visit our town again.
The exhibition can be visited at Piwnica Paryska over the coming weeks. Later, the photographs will be displayed, among other places, at Opałkowa Chata and Niebieski Burak. And in less than a year—another Parade of Love for Clay. Glinoludy of all countries, unite!
