Civic Platform’s press conference took place on 14 October at the Restaurant of the "Piast" Hotel. The meeting was attended by MP Grzegorz Schetyna, Deputy Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Piotr Borys and Bolesławiec County Executive Cezary Przybylski.
The PO secretary general spoke about the need to create infrastructure in Bolesławiec County and throughout Lower Silesia that would attract as many investors as possible. In Schetyna’s view, this requires connecting the key roads in the voivodeship. The secretary sees the Bolesławiec area as a leader of positive economic change in our region. Grzegorz Schetyna and Deputy Marshal Borys also explained the importance of supporting the construction of the S3 expressway.
Cezary Przybylski, the Bolesławiec candidate for parliament, spoke about connecting the three economic subzones in our county (Wykroty, Gromadka and Bolesławiec). One of the priority tasks set by the current county executive is rebuilding the road from Golnice, so as to facilitate communication between all the municipalities.
Another issue raised by Przybylski was improving traffic flow at the roundabout on Zgorzelecka Street in Bolesławiec. As the county executive explained, this would benefit not only Bolesławiec residents, but virtually everyone travelling through our city. The Bolesławiec parliamentary candidate also returned to the idea of extracting copper ore. He added that the deposits, which had been described as overestimated, are in fact richer than previously thought.
At the end, Grzegorz Schetyna referred to Friday’s debate between Jarosław Kaczyński and Donald Tusk. He emphasised that the meeting clearly showed what vision of the state Civic Platform has and what vision Law and Justice has. He also noted that televised debates can have a tremendous impact on PO’s electoral result.
