The Federation of Young Social Democrats invites all young people from Bolesławiec, as well as everyone who feels young, to a debate entitled “The future of young people after the elections – a continuation of the great emigration or a chance for development in the country?”. The debate will be held on 13 October (Saturday) at the headquarters of the Guild of Various Crafts at 15 Opitza Street (first floor) at 11:30 a.m. Those who have announced their participation in the meeting include: Jerzy Szmajdziński, Piotr Hetel (a parliamentary candidate from Bolesławiec), and the secretary of the Lower Silesian SLD Council, Radosław Mołoń.
“At the debate, we would like to address all the issues concerning today’s youth and young people. We will ask those seeking power in our country what prospects they want to create for us and how they intend to stop the millions of Poles leaving the country,” says Michał Banaś, chairman of the FMS in Bolesławiec. “I believe that the meeting will also be attractive because every participant will have the opportunity to ask questions of people who know state politics from behind the scenes,” he adds.
The Bolesławiec branch of the Federation of Young Social Democrats was established on 2 April 2004. The federation is a nationwide association bringing together people aged 16 to 30 who hold left-wing and centre-left political views. In Bolesławiec, FMS is known primarily for organizing numerous charitable initiatives: school starter kits and trips for children; honorary blood donation drives; as well as political events, including meetings and debates with well-known figures from the Polish political scene.
